Queen Cakes

Having a dinner party?  These simple little treats are just what you need.  Here is a recipe that my gran has passed down to me from her mom so it's very special to me!

Ingredients
140g margarine
½ Cup sugar
2 eggs
¾ cup milk
1 ¾ cup flour
2 teaspoons baking powder (if not self-raising flour)
2 teaspoons vanilla essence
Method
Preheat oven to 180⁰ C
Add eggs & mix well
Add flour, milk and vanilla essence alternatively.
Add baking powder.
Mix well & put into patty pans
Bake for 10 minutes or until golden.
To make this recipe a real show stopper, I like to take fresh roses and cut them at the stem, push them through the centre of each cake and sprinkle with icing sugar once they have cooled.  Guaranteed to have everyone “oohing” and “ahhing”.
