We all know the importance of skin care. While cleansing and moisturising are essential, face masks are also an important step in ensuring optimum care of your skin. Today I've rounded up my favourite face masks, each with a different purpose to the next. I try to incorporate a mask into my skin care routine twice a week and I really love the effect they have on my skin, not to mention that they force you to relax and have a little "me time" while they enhance the quality of your skin. Right, let's get started:
1.
The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask
I bought this beauty from the Body Shop some time last year so I've been using it for a while now. This mask is deep cleansing and the reason it is so important is because it draws out all the impurities that your cleanser isn't able too. It smells like ginger, which I love, and the reason it has been named a warming mineral mask is because the moment you put it on to your skin it activates and heats up very quickly. I had never tried a warming mask before this one so I didn't know quite how I felt about it but I soon fell in love with it. After washing it off I like to slap on some thick moisturiser because, having quite dry skin I really feel it needs it after this mask, and my skin feels so healthy it's incredible.
2.
Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Self-Foaming Mask
This mask is designed to be a five minute facial equivalent to a spa treatment. After applying the gel-like product to your face it activates and turns into a foam with enzymatic exfoliators which cleanses the skin. It really tingles your skin and for a couple seconds it might even feel uncomfortable but it's well worth it! This mask is dynamite in a small package that's for sure. After washing it off, I have the same redness I have when I exfoliate my face which just goes to show you how well it works. The mask comes with a serum specifically suited to the mask to replenish and calm the skin and promote it's own natural ceramides. This really does calm my skin and rejuvenates it overall. My skin feels so healthy for days after using this. It improves my skin's elasticity and gives quite a glow to it.
3.
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque
I recently had a facial where the therapist recommended the Skin Hydrating Masque for my skin. Having never used it before, I was all for it. This mask is fantastic for putting moisture back into your skin. The therapist noticed that I could do with rehydrating my skin and I couldn't have agreed more, especially now as the air becomes really dry leading into winter. This mask isn't going to leave you oily at all so you don't need to be worried of being greasy after using it. Instead it adds the perfect amount of moisture to your skin and I find that my skin laps up what it needs and nothing more. After using this mask I feel as though I've had a glass of water and it's all gone to the skin on my face and it feels so revitalised and refreshed!
Have you used any of these masks? Do you recommend any others? I'd love to know your thoughts!
