Revlon Highlighting Palette Review

I'm always on the lookout for a great blush and highlighter.  I love how blush instantly adds another dimension to my face so that I don't look flat and washed out.  Highlighter adds that beautiful healthy and vibrant glow to my skin that I think everyone is always looking for.  I've found the best combination of these in the Revlon Highlighting Palettes.  They're great quality, beautiful shades and they're super affordable.  To find out exactly what I think about these products please keep watching!

Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy review

I've been lucky enough to try out the Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel recently.  Let me start off by saying that I won't be seen dead without my nails being in tip top condition but that being said I'm also one of those girls who are eternally in a rush.  As a result, I really appreciate nail polishes that are quick drying and long lasting.  If you're anything like me you will love the Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy polishes because they are absolutely perfect for the girl on the run.

These nail polishes combine a base coat and colour in one bottle which saves so much time as it is.  The second step towards beautiful nails is the Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat which is a protective coat which will lengthen the life of your manicure and give you lots of shine.  These polishes really are salon quality.  My manicure lasted a week without any signs of chips or fade.  The only reason I will be removing it will be to change colours.  I have tested how easy it is to remove the polish and I was pleasantly surprised that it came off with nail polish remover quite easily and with no buffing at all.  This is a bonus for me because I really don't enjoy soaking and buffing.

The Revlon ColorStay polishes come in 30 gorgeous shades with such fun names.  The colours in the second picture from left to right are Lady Luck, Beginner's Luck, Hot Hand and Full House.   I will definitely be using them throughout summer as they're all such bright, fun colours.  The shade currently on my nails is Hot Hand and I think I might switch it up for Full House next.

These polishes will be available from the end of September at will retail for R110.00.

Luscious Lips

Bobbi Brown, Elizabeth Arden, Revlon beauty review

It might sound crazy but my favourite moments in a day often involve applying a bold lipstick.  There's something in the process of taking that moment to apply my lipstick that makes me feel confident and inspired to keep going and keep developing myself.  It's a personal treat for me, something I do for myself.  When I come across someone else wearing a beautiful bold lip, I see that they feel it too.  Maybe there is magic in our lipsticks.  Any way, here's a post dedicated to my favourite magic wands.  Let's begin by keeping our lips luscious.

1.  Moisturise
I don't know about you but this winter has completely dried out my skin.  I'm constantly applying moisturising balms to my lips.  There is no ways I would even dare wear a bold lipstick if my lips were all dry and flaky because that would just leave my lips looking pasty and one hot mess.  Not cute.

One of my favourite moisturisers this winter have been Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream.  I take this with me wherever I go.  I recommend it to everyone who has never tried it.  For anyone who is taking Roaccutane, I assure you this will become your best friend.  It is so thick and luxurious that it stays on your lips for ages and it moisturises your lips beautifully.  If you apply it before going to bed, guaranteed, you will wake up with it still on your lips in the morning.  Ah-ma-zing!

Another favourite this winter has been Maybelline's Baby Lips.  For starters, how cute is this packaging?!  Each time I pull it out of my bag, everyone always has the same reaction: "Oooh what's that".  I have only just started using these (thank you Leigh) and I'm really so impressed.  Leigh sent me the Baby Lips in Peach Kiss which has a subtle nude tint (seen above).  I loved it so much that I rushed out and bought the Mint Fresh one too.

Once you have gorgeous, soft lips, you are ready to break out the colour.

2.  Colour Crazed
I've been using this Bobbi Brown Art Stick in Bright Raspberry as of late.  I can't help but feel the excitement I had as a child when picking up a bright pink crayon and scribbling all over my canvas.  Nothing has changed other than the crayon has become a lipstick and the canvas has become my face.  I have been wearing this colour non-stop.  It's the most perfect raspberry shade that I have come across.  It also has staying power and wont disappear unless you want it to.

If I want to gloss it up a bit, Revlon's Super Lustrous lip gloss in Fuchsia Finery is my favourite shade to compliment it (see full review here).  The two are a match made in heaven.

My final lip favourite today is another Bobbi Brown winner.  This one is a Rich Lip Color in Miami Pink.  It is a beautiful combination of pink and peach.  It is a shade that really brightens your face and brings out your eyes which is what I love most about this colour.  It has quite a creamy texture so it doesn't leave my lips feeling dry at all but rather keeps them feeling smooth all day.

What are your favourite lipsticks and shades at the moment?  I'd love to try out your recommendations so please leave them in the comment section.  Thanks so much for reading!

Currently Testing: Revlon Lips

Hi Beauties!

Can you believe it's July already?  I feel like June completely flew by as I spent the majority of it in bed sleeping in order to recover.  Anyway,  today I wanted to share some gorgeous products from Revlon that I've been trying out.  I love these because they suit all skin tones whether you're super pale like me (almost transparent) really dark skinned.  They're also so great because these lip products aren't going to blow your budget.  Let's face it, we all want to add something to our look, feel super glamorous and still have money in the bank while doing so (hashtag #winning).

Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter

This is my favourite out of the three lip products I've been trying.  It's so creamy that it glides on to my lips and really moisturises them.  The colour is really long lasting which I something that I really look for in a lip colour.  Nothing bugs me more than an expensive lip colour that disappears in no time.  I've been trying shade 040 Red Velvet and I think this is a gorgeous colour for everyone to have in their collection and it is a perfect wine colour which is great for the winter season.  I definitely want to go buy a few more of these perhaps in a nude and pink shade.  I also can't resist the quilted packaging, it's so much fun!

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick

I fell head over heels in love with the Lip Butter that the lipstick unfortunately great expectations to live up to.  The lipstick is great if you find the creaminess of the lip butter too much.  It is pretty standard as far as lipsticks go.  I'm using shade 475 Icy Violet which I think would be absolutely gorgeous on girls with darker skin tones than myself.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss

This is a gorgeous lip gloss.  I've been applying it on its own and also over the Lip Butter if I'm going for a really bold lip and I think both ways it looks great.  This is another product that I will be definitely be going to stock up on in a few different shades.  I'm currently using the shade 220 Fuchsia Finery which is such a fun colour.  I'm didn't expect to like it but I'm actually crazy about it since trying it and I would really love the same shade lip butter for the perfect marriage of Fuchsia.  This is another shade that I think looks so stunning on girls of every skin type.

Have you tried any of these lip products?  I'd love to know what you think or if you have any other recommendations for me.  Thanks for reading!

First Impressions: Revlon

I've been trying out a couple of Revlon's new products lately and I thought you would enjoy a first impressions post with some details about the products.  Let me know what you think or if you've tried these yourself.  I'd love to know what you think!

1.  Colorstay ShadowLinks:  I think these are such a clever idea.  Each eye shadow is sold individually and clip together with the others you've chosen to create a palette designed especially for you.  There are 30 different shades to pick from so you are guaranteed to create a palette perfect for your taste.  These links are so affordable at R45.00 each which makes them even more fun to experiment with.  If you've always thought purple eye shadow looks beautiful but been too afraid to try it, I would say these links would be the way to introduce this look into your make up.

2.  Age Defying Wrinkle Remedy Line Filler:  This is a really thick cream that is designed to fill any lines before you apply your make up.  Skin immediately looks plumped after application that you may not even want to apply any make up!  Retail price:  R139.00

3.  Age Defying CC Cream:  I have to admit I have been hesitant of BB and CC creams purely because I like full coverage foundation.  After a friend from work told me how much she loves her I thought it was probably something worth revisiting and I'm so glad I did.  My skin looks so healthy when wearing this CC Cream and it feels so lightweight on my skin.  I have very dry skin during the winter but this has been moisturising it wonderfully.  Most importantly, this cream contains SPF 30 which is essential to me.  Retail price:  R189.00

4.  Age Defying Targeted Dark Spot Concealer Treatment:  The packaging of this concealer is brilliant because it has an applicator sponge on the tip which allows you to blend the product into problem areas with ease to give you the final product of a flawless face without much effort.  Retail Price:  R138.00

5.  Age Defying Firming and Lifting Make Up:  We all know that Revlon have incredible foundations and this one is no exception to that rule.  It gives beautiful coverage and a beautiful glow which I absolutely love.  Need I say more?  Retail Price:  R245.00

If I have to narrow down two products that I would recommend the most it would the the ShadowLinks because they are so budget friendly, especially for beginners.  Secondly I would recommend the CC Cream because it cuts down your morning prep time in half.  Moisturising, sun screen and foundation in one quick, easy step?  Yes please!
