What are you reading?

I have had my nose glued to this book ever since I opened it.  John Berendt's The City of Falling Angels is a non-fiction view of the people who make Venice what it is.  While I have been to Venice and fell in love with it as any person with a love for that elegance would, I didn't experience what this book offers.  It opens the doors to residences that the tourist walks past.  I find it to make Venice something personal rather that a destination.  It takes you inside the homes of Venetians and the extravagance of the palaces on the Grand Canal.  It also focuses on the last fire of the Fenice which I find so interesting because this is something the tour guides, for a reason I cannot imagine, neglected to mention.  If you love Venice, this is definitely a read for you!

Sun[ny]day

Most amazing weekend!  Grant and I spent the day relaxing by the pool catching a tan.  It was so good to lie in the sun and have what was probably the last swim of the season.   More pictures after the jump.

C for Chanel

Its amazing how a blazer transforms any outfit.  The Chanel top was actually my mom's so it's quite old but I gave it a little bit of a modern edge.  I love all neutral colours and navy tends to creep into my outfits too.

Steal her Style

I came across these pictures of Clemence Poesy from UK Glamour's February issue and I couldn't help but want to share them.  I love her and her style and these pictures are especially gorgeous!  My favourite is the first picture but the Red Valentino shoes in the last picture have me drooling!!!  Enjoy! x

A little bit of Hippy Flare

I was heading out for dinner with my boyfriend and bestie to Wang Thai for dinner.  It's our favourite Thai restaurant and it never ceases to amazing my taste buds!!!  It got chilly before we left so I quickly pulled on some jeans that I almost forgot I owned.  We laughed so much at dinner I had tears rolling down my cheek. Its dinners like these that make the happiest memories.

Show time

Grant surprised me with tickets to watch Phantom of the Opera at Monte Casino.  I couldn't contain my excitement because I've always loved the music but I had never seen the stage performance.  It took my breath away!  The masquerade outfits and attention to detail and the crystal voices and the set design...wow wow wow.  Definitely a must see!!!!  Your eyes will find it delicious.

My week in pictures

It's been a very busy week.  I've done so much and the time has just flown by.  My wonderful boyfriend took me for dinner at Koi in Rosebank where we had the most amazing Dim Sum and sushi  followed by delicious fushion earl grey tea with lavender.  The frame is from my room and it has the caption "I want to travel the world so that I have pictures of us kissing in every city".  Couldn't be more accurate.  I went to see him for a cup of tea in his work break and I had a pink petit four yummy!!!  The typography is there as inspiration because I need the studying I'm doing to pay off.  The kitty is TC and he was keeping me company as I studied.  The HUGE bun is so much fun and so elegant.  Surprisingly it's made with a sock!?!  It gave me a headache after a while but it was still pretty.  The jewels are my favourite necklace at the moment.  The cupcake?  A party favour made by my friend and her mom for her 21st birthday party themed black and white.

The Venetian House

Here are some pictures that I took in Venice.  This place is magical.  There is something in the air of this floating city that no other city could replicate.  Little canals and streets are exactly as they were when Cassanova roamed them.  It is so rich and decedant and I could live there for the romance of it all!
