Tresemme Product Review

I've been using Tresemme hair products on my hair since high school and I've always loved them. The huge bottles of shampoo and conditioner are always always in my shower and every time I travel I always make sure to buy the travel sized bottles to take with me.  Lately I've been trying out the Tresemme mousse and finishing spray too so I decided to do a review sharing my thoughts on these.

Tresemme Styling Mousse

My hair is probably as flat as flat could be and I will do absolutely anything to give it some lift.  I'm all for volume!  This styling mousse has been great for me when I do a full blow dry at home.  A little bit of this product certainly goes a long way.  I was so happy to find that this mousse is really light and isn't going to leave a sticky feeling in you hair or decrease the time period between washes.  It really adds great body to my hair and when paired with my Tresemme 44mm round brush for a great home blow dry, this dynamic duo gives me wonderful results.

Tresemme 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray

After having blow dried and styled my hair, I generally backcomb my roots slightly for added volume and to hold this body in place I will use this hair spray.  Once I'm happy with the amount of body in my hair I will also spray the ends to hold in the curl or waves for long lasting style.  This hair spray is also light weight and it doesn't leave any sticky residue in my hair.  It still allows movement in my hair but definitely secures the style.  The fragrance of this perfume is absolutely beautiful.  I've never come across a hair spray that smells like this one does.  They generally don't smell too great but this one often tempts me to spray more than my hair needs just so that the fragrance lingers in the air.  This hair spray hasn't dried out my hair at all which is also fantastic because I've tried a couple that definitely have.

These two products will most certainly become staples in my hair care routine.  They both give such great body and texture to my hair.  Neither product has left my hair feeling weighed down or sticky but rather quite touchable and I've also noticed that both add shine to my hair.  Overall I'm super impressed and if you're looking for a little more volume and style that lasts these two products come highly recommended!

Batiste Dry Shampoo

Okay, let's be honest.  We're all looking for short cuts in our busy lifestyles.  I'm one of those people that always seems to be in a rush.  I've got spare shoes and blazers in my car and I take my make up bag wherever I go because I'm always in a mad dash from here to there.  Since I've started working it's been ten times worse.  Today I'm going to share something with you that is going to save you so much time.  This little pearl of wisdom comes in the form of Batiste dry shampoo.

I picked up this dry shampoo at Clicks to give it a try and I immediately fell in love with it.  I've always been the girl that always washed my hair every two to three days.  This dry shampoo actually doubles that length of time and keeps my hair looking so fresh in that period.  Not only does it keep my hair clean, it also adds such a fantastic amount of volume that I can't even get from a good blowout.

I've tried two types of Batiste dry shampoo, the Tropical one which smells like summer and the XXL volume.  I'd say my favourite is the XXL Volume because I'm simply a lover of big hair and it does add more volume than the Tropical one.  They both keep my hair clean and looking great throughout the week though so I tend to alternate between them.  These products have really impressed me and even more so because I get to do more in the evenings than merely sorting out my hair.

Let's talk about Hair {Aussie hair review}

I've mentioned before that because my hair is so long, I  really have to take good care of it.  There's nothing worse than seeing that girl in the shops with long, tatty and ratty hair and to be honest I live in fear of being that girl.  To be sure that I don't end up looking like that, I really appreciate good quality hair products.  I've been a big fan of Aussie 3 Minute Miracle for some time now.  Every time I go into Clicks I can't seem to leave without making sure I have some in my basket.  It's rich texture has my hair feeling like silk time and time again.

I've only recently started using the shampoo and conditioner along with it too and it's a winning combo.  For starters, if you have this fabulous trio sitting in you room, your whole room is filled with this intoxicating, sweet aroma that lifts my mood immediately.  The shampoo is probably the most fragrant of all three and the moment you open the cap to use it, you will feel love-drunk with it.  The conditioner is great for in between 3 Minute Miracle treatments and is also the one to use if you're planning to curl your hair immediately.  I find that my hair is far too soft to curl it straight after I've used the Miracle treatment.

Pro's: amazingly soft and healthy hair that smells sweet and heavenly.

Con's: the bottles aren't big enough.  I'd be quite happy with a 5 litre bucket of each of these products.

Top Knot & Polka Dots

Pick 'n Pay blouse | H&M skirt and heels | Michael Kors watch | Purse from Thailand

Hi Girls!

I've been wearing my hair in this top knot all week.  It's such a great way for taking a break from styling with heat while still looking like you've made an effort.  I love this look with a bold lip in the evenings too.

As for the polka dots... it's becoming a dotty obsession.

Have a great weekend!

Tuesday's Top Picks

This week's Tuesday's Top Picks will have you scrambling for your curling iron.  I love these curls!  You can't go wrong with long, big hair with waves.  I love doing my hair this way any time I have half a chance to sit down and do it.  I wouldn't mind looking this way every day.

Happy Tuesday!

Sock bun tutorial

This week my blog has seen a number of buns and, with Allison's request, I thought I'd share a tutorial on how to do my favourite, the sock bun.  This tutorial is from Wendy's Lookbook.  I absolutely love her and her blog. She explains how to do the bun really well.  I don't use any hair products when I do this style, but play around and let me me know what end result you achieve.

Have a wonderful weekend!
