Floral Print Summer Style

The print on this dress has me all set and ready for a holiday.  It's such a vibrant print and I can't help but feel so happy when I wear it.  The floral is just so summery and gorgeous.  I decided to pair this dress with gold accessories so these accessories with pastels on a gold chain, gold bag and glittery gold heels were naturally what I gravitated towards.

I fell in love with this floral playsuit the moment I laid eyes on it.  I love absolutely everything about it from the light, soft fabric to the long wispy sleeves to the cinched in waist.  It's so feminine and perfect for summer.  I would definitely wear this for drinks or dinner with friends or out for a date with le bf.  What do you think?

Belle's Patisserie

Last week my sister and I headed to Belle's Patisserie to help them pick out their Ultimate Summer Cupcake and I decided to throw on something light and breezy such a sugary occassion.  Cupcakes for breakfast?  Sounds like the best kind of breakfast.  I wore this dress with my favourite wedges which I can't seem to stop wearing.  They're just the very best shoes for daytime events because they're comfortable, summery and a little more casual than a stiletto heel.

The Ultimate Summer Cupcake flavours had been narrowed down to Orange & Ginger, Coca Cola, Lavender, Summer Fruit and Pina Colada.  It was a tough decision but the Pina Colada cupcake was my favourite flavour for summer and I was thrilled to find that it has since been named the Ultimate Summer Cupcake.  You need to try it!  The Orange & Ginger cupcake and their all time classic Red Velvet are aslo winners in my book too.  If you're looking for a sweet treat, you definitely need to visit Belle's Patisserie at the Blubird Shopping Centre.

Hi everyone!  I'm finally back home from my trip although I'm still suffering jet-lag.  Do you have any remedies for me?  It's been a while since my last outfit post with all the travelling shenanigans so to dive straight back into them, here is a pink and white combo for you.

On Thursday evening I attended the Sunglass Hut #SGHComeandPlay event and this is what I wore to the function.  Those of you who follow me on Instagram (@arumlilea) will already know which sunnies I picked to come home with me.  Stay tuned because they will be making an appearance on the blog within the week.

I have had this tweed jacket in my cupboard for years.  I always knew I would have a moment when I’d pull it out and wear it so I haven’t been prepared to let it go all these years.  Well, today was its glory day and I loved every second.

[Nerd Alert]  I was lucky enough to attend a lecture given by the UN High Commissioner on Human Rights, a good old South African gal.  She is the most intelligent, inspirational woman and she has had remarkable success in her drive to promote human rights.  Hopefully my journey will entail success even half the amount of hers, so long as I too am able to contribute to improving the world we live in.

I love anything white.  Absolutely anything.  Especially this dress.  I’ve also worn it here and here.  I wore this outfit to The Collective on the weekend.  It was such a stunning day out in the sun sipping on champagne with friends.

Monthly Outfit Round-Up

I can’t believe we’re already in April.  It honestly feels as though it was just Christmas!  I can start to see the seasons changing now, it’s getting a little bit cooler but we’re still lucky to be having amazing weather.  I know all you Northern Hemisphere ladies are ultra excited for spring and I can’t wait to see what trends follow. 

April promises a special birthday – my little sister turns 18!  I have family coming to visit so we’ll be running around having a bunch of fun.  For the rest of the month I’ll probably be eating my way through a pile of Easter eggs.

Arum Lilea Guide: What to Wear to a BBQ

Here in South Africa we are enjoying the end of our summer and the long weekends we’ve been having call for summer traditions: a braai (a BBQ to all you non-South African ladies).  The thought just makes me all happy inside.  For these ultra casual fun days, picnics included, I love a pair of shorts in a bright colour,  a light blouse, a great statement necklace that isn’t going to get in the way of all the fun you’re having, and a pink lip.  I love these turquoise loafers of mine for an added pop of colour.

This outfit kind of reminds me of school.  I suppose it’s the preppy skirt and tied back hair.  I love incorporating great basics into my outfits.  There’s nothing better than a white shirt and a great skirt for a quick and easy, hassle free outfit.
