Petits Fours

I was lucky enough to be invited to the opening of Petits Fours, Kramerville by my friend, Morgan.  She sent me the invite and when I opened it, I saw the theme was Breakfast at Tiffany’s.  From that moment I knew that I would be clearing my schedule so that I could attend.  We had a gorgeous high tea with macarons, red velvet cupcakes, chocolate cake, quiches, eclairs and coffees.  What better way to start the day?  Definitely worth a visit for all those of you living near Sandton!

On a day like this

I hope everyone is having a great long weekend!  Yesterday Grant and I went to lunch at Vovo Telo in Parkhurst.  The food was delicious!  The chocolate cake below was the best chocolate cake I have ever tried, perhaps because it was made with buttermilk?  Yesterday evening we went to watch the Johannesburg Symphony choir and orchestra perform Bach's St Matthews Passion.  It was beautiful!

What's for Breakfast

My day cannot begin without yoghurt and muesli for breakfast.  I add banana bread and fresh bananas to it to vary it up a little bit like I did here but blueberry muffins and fresh strawberries are also a delicious variation.
